"Prenatal care with Bay Midwives was amazing. Before Charlee we were going to an OBGYN office that we just did not like. Our questions were never answered and the care there just felt so rushed. With Charlee, all of our questions were answered in depth. She had an answer for everything and provided helpful resources. Meetings with her were a full hour versus the 5 minutes we spent in the OBGYN appointments. Charlee is extremely thorough in her process and I felt so comfortable with every aspect of her care. Thank you Charlee!!! <3"

"This was my second time working with Charlee. I had such a great experience both times. She is full of so much knowledgeable information and so kind. Everything I wanted to do during my pregnancy, labor and delivery aligned with her beliefs also. I can’t recommend Charlee enough to be your midwife!"

"I wish every pregnant person could receive the care I received from Charlee during my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I felt informed, supported, and genuinely cared for throughout the process. I love my birth story, and Charlee played a huge role in helping me create that experience. If you're curious about midwifery care or home birth, don't wait to schedule a consult with Charlee. You won't regret it - she's one in a million!"

“Charlee is the best provider I have ever had the privilege of working with. Throughout my pregnancy she made sure I felt cared for and answered any questions and addressed all the concerns I had with swiftness. Throughout my labor and delivery, Charlee provided by far the most amazing care I experienced. She made me feel so comfortable & honored all my wishes I had for my delivery. During my postpartum period, she made sure I knew I wasn’t alone and was there for me as much as I needed her. She is the most gentle, loving, wonderful midwife and I couldn’t recommend her more to anyone that wants to have a home birth."

"Charlee is not only an exceptional midwife, but she is a very understanding and well rounded individual! I had a lot of outside stressors and Charlee was very understanding and empathic. She customized my care to fit the needs I had in that season. She advocated for me, gave me good insight and a listening ear. I also had a history of fast labor (delivered our precious baby girl in an hour) using her discernment and wisdom, she made sure to stay near and gave me great tools and the space I needed. I am so sad to be moving out of state, otherwise I would definitely be having her at all my future births. So incredibly thankful for her and the trust I was able to accumulate over my prenatal, delivery and PP. I sincerely enjoyed my time with Charlee and she certainly can inspire so many others to pursue homebirth care!"

"Bay Midwives was an excellent prenatal and postpartum care choice for me. I started care around 20 weeks into my pregnancy but deeply wish I had started long before. I came to Bay Midwives after seeing an OB/GYN for the first part of my pregnancy and once I began educating myself more on the process of pregnancy and birth, as well as experienced the impersonal and often inconvenient care I knew I wanted to go another direction. Charlee was exactly what I wanted and needed for my first pregnancy. I trust her completely, welcomed her suggestions and benefitted from her wisdom. The non-judgmental, unbiased, warm and loving care provided by Bay Midwives is how I wish all healthcare could be. Additionally, the billing team was super helpful in helping me navigate the dreaded health insurance battleground for which I was very grateful and which helped me to secure better and significant coverage. I would be delighted to repeat my experience with Bay Midwives for a future pregnancy."

"She helped me bring my son earthside on 9.22.2020. I was introduced to Charlee around 12 weeks pregnant when I began my midwife search. Having suffered recurrent loss prior to this pregnancy, the relationship was important to me. I knew home birth was the right option for me, but having a midwife who understood me and my partner's lifestyle and our personalities was a must. From the very first interaction I felt comfortable and our first virtual consult solidified that connection, even through video chat. Throughout the months, Charlee took time to always answer my questions, no matter how simple, which put my mind at ease. For some reason from the moment I read the email about Charlee I knew she was meant to be in our lives. I owe this woman more than I could put into words. I was confident in myself in my pregnancy, and in my ability, but as a first time mom no matter how much you think you’ve “got this,” you ALWAYS need someone there for you when the doubt creeps in. Leading up to the birth we laughed and talked and vented and dissected everything and anything on my mind. I went into labor at midnight Sunday night and gave birth Tuesday afternoon. Had it not been for the relationship Charlee and I had cultivated in our months together (many of which were impacted by Covid), I believe the outcome would have been completely different. 40 hours of labor I never would’ve expected to be in and she kept me grounded and focused. She believed me, trusted me, and encouraged me even when I swore I couldn’t keep going and I could not have asked for anything differently. She took time to get to know my partner and make sure he was just as supported and comfortable as I was, and she even helped him catch our child which was a huge dream of ours. This woman is meant to be a midwife; I feel like she’s a 3rd parent to our son. I owe our birth to her and her knowledge and skill. Charlee- you studied hard for this, you gave your life to this. I could not have asked for a better person to be placed into my life when you were. You deserve to catch all the babies in the East Bay. I can’t wait to see where this takes you and I’ll have 100 more babies with your support. I will forever be grateful that I got to be your official first. From the bottom of my heart, thank you."

"After having an induced hospital birth for my first, I was so excited for a birth center water birth. Charlee was attentive and supportive through my contractions. I will never forget when my son was being born his hand was up by his face. Charlee went to check his neck for the cord, he grabbed her finger with his hand. It was such an awesome moment. Charlee has a calm and knowledgeable presence with an obvious love for her profession."

"I always looked forward to visiting with Charlee during my appointments. She is both knowledgeable and non-judgmental. I left every appointment feeling more confident about my pregnancy, and like I had just shared some laughs with a friend. I appreciate her authenticity and ability to connect; she certainly helped my pregnancy experience to be absolutely magical."

"Charlee was wonderful! She was so supportive, helpful, and understanding. She really listened to my needs and wants and made it all happen! She included my two older kids in the process and was very patient with them! I couldn't have asked for a better homebirth experience!

"I met Charlee for the first time at our birth. She handled herself so professionally and was incredibly personable. If I had to pick a midwife for my future children, she’d be my go to pick.”

"After 3 hospital births, we knew we wanted this *probably* last birth to be different. We found Charlee through an online search and are so happy we did! This was the most peaceful pregnancy/labor/postpartum I've ever experienced. She is kind, caring, and incredibly knowledgable, exactly the kind of person you want leading your birth team."

"I chose Bay Midwives in order to receive patient-centered prenatal care, and to have the opportunity deliver at home in a birth tub. I transferred later in my pregnancy at 28 weeks after receiving pressure from providers to undergo unnecessary testing and induction at 39 weeks due to "advanced maternal age." I always dreamt of having a home birth but wasn't sure it would be a possibility. Charlee spent more time discussing education related to testing and birthing choices in our first hour long consultation than the rest of my medical providers had over the course of the previous 28 weeks. Charlee offered both home and virtual visits that accommodated my work schedule. Each prenatal and postpartum visit was very thorough, I was able to ask questions and engage in thoughtful discussions about my choices so that I could make the most thoughtful decisions for myself, my baby, and our family. Being able to receive education and feel empowered to make the best decisions for our family was amazing, and a stark contrast to my experiences in the hospital environment. She was extremely professional, and I felt safe and cared for during labor and delivery. Midwifery care provided in my home made a drastic difference in how fast I healed postpartum. Charlee did an excellent job of providing well-rounded care for both me and baby, provided referrals for additional care when necessary, and I appreciated the way she integrated nutritional suggestions and her knowledge as an herbalist into our care. My family enjoyed engaging with Charlee, and we are incredibly grateful for the care she provided."

"Charlee is a incredible midwife! My family and I are so thankful for her care. I had a hard labor and postpartum with my first child in the hospital. I wanted my second time to be different. I wanted a midwife who was knowledgeable and that I could trust. That also trusted my body and understood physiological birth. Charlee was that midwife to me! Since the very beginning she was able to answer all my questions and concerns. She's so educated about birth and always kept me informed so that I was able to make informed decisions about my baby and pregnancy. I love that! The prenatal care/ postnatal care was amazing where she really gets to know what's going on with you and baby. She made it such a great experience for my family to look forward to. My son would get excited when she would come because she would include him in hearing the baby's heartbeat on the Doppler or let him help with taking my blood pressure. It was a completely different experience than the hospital and I am so thankful for her loving care with me and including my family in the way she did! Just thinking about my labor I get so happy and full of emotion! It was one of the best days of my life! I wouldn't say my labor was easy. It was work. It took 2 hrs to push my boy out. I was very tired. Charlee knew exactly what I needed to do to get my body in the right position to get my baby out. I was able to have the birth that I longed for and so badly wanted. It was triumphant and euphoric. I'm so thankful to have found Charlee! I'm already thinking about my next labor and how excited I am to do it again one day. I will definitely have Charlee again as my midwife!"

"When I began my search for a VBAC supportive provider, I didn't expect to find someone as kind, genuine, and intuitive as Charlee. She exceeded every expectation with prenatal care and it warmed my heart to see how she included my older daughter in the appointments and embraced our family life. I went into this birth feeling prepared and ready, and even when labor became long and frustrating, she was right there to offer reassurance and a calming presence. I am so grateful that she was there to guide my son into the world and absolutely nothing could compare to the moment I lifted my baby to my chest for the first time. There were many moments that I wasn't sure I could do it, but she made sure I knew that I was doing it, and doing it well!"

"We were so happy to find Charlee after an unsupportive experience with our original OB. Charlee always listened to us and worked with us to prepare for the birth we wanted. She shared her opinions and perspective but always let us make the final decisions. My birth did not go according to plan, but Charlee was always calm and expertly guided us through the entire labor and supported our ultimate decision to transfer to the hospital for a C-Section. After the birth she continued to support and provide care for myself and the baby. We are so grateful for our experience with Bay Midwives."

"Due to Covid, I had been looking for awhile and was in desperate need of a midwife once I reached the end of my 2nd trimester. I had been emailing midwives all over the Bay Area and I was told that most midwives were booked around my due date and because if that it would be hard to obtain a midwife for an at home birth. A midwife called me in response to a email I sent, she referred me to Charlee Haller. From the first conversation I had with her I knew it was the perfect fit. I truly feel that Charlee has been the best caregiver I have had thus far. She is patient, listens and helps her clients feel comfortable under her care. We will forever be thankful for Charlee Haller."

"Charlee was so amazing and supportive during my birthing journey. I had a whole natural birth plan that was thrown out the window due to high blood pressure. As a black woman I was terrified to give birth at the hospital, but thank goodness I had Charlee there. Her calm demeanor, her infectious and positive smile, I could not have done it without her. She advocated and supported me in ways I didn’t know I needed. Not only is she skilled, knowledgeable and confident, she is simply a lovely soul. She genuinely cared about my well being, my baby’s well being and my partner’s well being. We still keep in touch to this day. She is truly an amazing midwife."

"On August 18th, we welcomed our second baby girl into the world. I had one of the most kind, beautiful people I’ve ever known by my side. I posted in hopes of finding a doula or midwife that could be with me at the birth center when I went into labor. Charlee not only offered to be there every step of the way, but she even took time out of her day beforehand to bring me tea, probiotics, cookies, and a sweet note when she knew my heart was growing anxious (baby was almost two weeks overdue). Then when I did go into labor, she was there within minutes of my SO texting her. And most of all, when I had to be transferred to the hospital due to hemorrhaging and separated from not only our brand new baby but also our five-year-old, Charlee stayed with them and my parents and helped calm Mya’s (our older daughter) nervous heart — even if that was primarily through jello and popsicles. When I was stable and able to see our family, she stayed and supported us. When they left for the hotel to get some much-needed sleep, she stayed. When the midwives returned home after a terrifying event, she stayed. Charlee was there voluntarily, and she was the last person to leave us that night and the FIRST to reach out the following morning to see how we were doing. She showed so much kindness and sincerity in her words and actions, I don’t know how we deserved to have such a wonderful soul with us that day, but I am so thankful we did. Even now, Charlee still texts to check-in and offers to come by so I can vent or talk or just have some company for an hour. Between my mama brain (and exhaustion) I don’t always get the chance to respond and say the things I want to, so Charlee, thank YOU for being a genuinely amazing human. You have taught me so much just through the way you care and love those around you. You are going to be a wonderful midwife and I hope that if we ever have another baby, YOU are the one by my side all over again. You will always mean so much to our family. You are one in a million, truly.”

"We were lucky to have Charlee on our team of midwives for our prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. We connected with Charlee almost instantly because of her warm and positive way of care. In our prenatal appointments, I always felt like my voice was being heard and she always had great advice to share. During labor and delivery, Charlee was a savior. She was right by my side coaching me in a way that met my needs exactly. She wasn’t overbearing and I wasn’t left wondering what she was doing. Despite our plan to birth out of hospital, I ended up in the hospital. The energy from the hospital staff was so aggressive. Charlee did a phenomenal job balancing that energy out for us and giving us the type of support we needed. She really put our care above all else and that was so refreshing after dealing with the sterile hospital staff. After our babe arrived, everything was much more challenging than we expected. Charlee offered the most loving support and we always felt heard. Our family continues to stay connected with Charlee because of how impactful she was throughout our journey. We are so grateful for her and highly recommend her as a midwife."

If your trust lies in the power of birthing people and the normalcy of birth and midwifery care, then you might be a good candidate for home birth.
